A Birthday for the Greatest Music Teacher of All Time

Nadia Boulanger is widely considered the greatest music teacher ever to live. She was a French music teacher and conductor born September 16, 1887.
Like many of my students, and myself, she doubted her abilities as a composer, even though she achieved honors as a student at the Conservatoire de Paris. Believing she had no particular talent as a composer, she stopped writing music and taught instead. On the other hand, her sister Lili Boulanger was a very prominent and successful composer.
While I would never compare myself to Nadia Boulanger, I decided to take a similar path early on. I love writing music and have my personal style, but I get more satisfaction from helping other composers achieve their goals than creating original music.
My gift is looking at music and the composer and knowing how to help them improve. When I look at your music, I can see the structure, the style, and the missed opportunities. I will not tell you how to write your music, and I will not compose it for you. I will show you that there is a clear path for you to follow. There will be decisions you must make on your own along the way, but I am your guide.
I will help you accomplish in six months what it could take you years to realize. And frankly, some composers never see the path so clearly laid out before them.
Every day you wait is a lost opportunity, and I won't take you on as a student if I don't feel I can help you. I am only here to help composers achieve the greatness that I see in them. When you Book a Call, we can review your process and determine if we are a good fit for lessons.
