2011 December Newsletter
Lesson Changes (January 2012)
Beginning in January, rather than scheduling specific times for music composition lessons, each student will be given a specific number of lessons to complete at their leisure.* This is advantageous for a few reasons, it will give me more flexibility to respond to your lessons without worrying about schedules, and it will allow you the ability to take as few or as many lessons as you like. The only stipulation is that you must complete at least one lesson per month.
*Students must use at least one lesson per month, otherwise, they may forfeit the lesson for the missed month. If you receive a discount on lessons, you may be required to fulfill other terms as well.
All students will receive an email with their current number of available lessons. You must click the link in the Welcome Letter and confirm that you will be continuing lessons by the date in your letter. Students that do not confirm their lessons will be removed from the studio.
December Lessons
We will not have lessons in December. This is done every year to allow those that have make-up lessons to turn in missed lessons and to prepare courses for the new year. If you have outstanding lessons, and haven't yet contacted me with an arrangement to complete them, please use the two lesson links remaining in the studio to submit your lessons. The next lesson will be due on the 14th.
Music Resource Center
We have a new free resource center available at http://www.uremusic.org. You can visit this website to view articles on music. There is a range of titles available at varying levels of difficulty. In January, students will have a special login that will allow them to read student only articles. We have uploaded over 30 articles in November. In January, we will begin writing one custom article for uremusic.com each month as well.
Student Courses
Student courses are coming back in January. Our first course will be an entry-level theory course. You will be able to take this course at your leisure, as long as you are enrolled in at least one lesson per month.
